Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Show Gains

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 3 Higher
SOYBEANS: 5 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.00 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $2.50 Lower
DOW JONES: 341 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 68 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.61 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 3 cents, closing at $1.67 with three loads traded. The barrel cheese price increased 2 cents, closing at $1.68 with one load traded. This failed to trigger aggressive buying interest as traders feel there is little reason for the prices to increase. The dry whey price increased by 0.25 cent, closing at 49.25 cents with two loads traded. Prices are expected to continue to remain sideways. Class III futures are 7 cents lower to 8 cents higher with light trading activity. The butter price increased by 0.50 cent, closing at $2.30 with three loads traded. Grade A non-fat dry milk remained unchanged at $1.1575 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have only traded in the August contract and are 3 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.22 cent lower to 0.95 cent higher. Dry whey futures have not yet been traded.
