Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Reaches Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 7 Higher
SOYBEANS: 14 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.80 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.95 Higher
DOW JONES: 550 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 298 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.70 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both block and barrel cheese prices remained unchanged Tuesday at $1.86 and $1.6250, respectively. Only an unfilled bid for barrels remained at the close with no one showing up to do any business in blocks. Price stability turned closer Class III futures from double-digit losses to double-digit gains. However, trading activity has been light. Butter price gained 5 cents, closing at $2.1425 with 16 loads traded. This is the highest price since Oct. 17, 2019. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.50 cents, closing at $1.6625 with three loads traded. Dry whey price slipped 0.50 cent, ending at 72.50 with no loads traded. Class III futures are 1 cent lower to 26 cents higher. Class IV futures are unchanged to 14 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.50 cent lower to 1.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 1.00 cents lower.
