Block cheese price increased 0.75 cent closing at $1.6250 with 4 loads traded. Barrel cheese price remained unchanged at $1.42 with one load traded. This took some contracts off their lows, but there are still numerous contracts posting double-digit losses. Butter was the star of the complex Monday with price jumping 16.50 cents closing at $1.6350 with 3 loads traded. This moved price back above blocks again where it has recently been for a brief period of time. Interestingly, after the 3 loads were traded, there was bid remaining down at $1.50 at the close. This could indicate that there may now be a void under the market. Trading Tuesday may be interesting. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased a penny to $1.1425 with 16 loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 55.75 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are 21 cents lower to one cent higher. Class IV futures are unchanged to 13 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.85 cent to 4.40 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.15 cent higher.
