Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Falls to a New Low

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEANS: 14 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.20 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $3.47 Lower
DOW JONES: 1657 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 805 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.49 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price declined 1.75 cents, closing at $1.6475 with seven loads traded. The barrel cheese price declined 5.00 cents, closing at $1.70 with no loads traded. The barrel price continues to fluctuate with very little activity. The dry whey price increased a penny, closing at 72.00 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are 13 cents lower to 5 cents higher. The butter price fell 7.75 cents, closing at $1.50 with two loads traded reaching a new low for the year. There were nine uncovered offers and no unfilled bids remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk remained unchanged at $1.13 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 22 cents lower to 2 cents higher. Butter futures are 4.97 to 9.75 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.72 to 1.07 cents lower. Cheese futures are 0.80 cent lower to 0.40 cent higher.
