Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Block Cheese Bounces

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 7 Lower
SOYBEANS: 26 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $13.30 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $1.57 Lower
DOW JONES: 408 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 362 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.40 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese prices increased 1.25 cents, closing at $1.66 with 10 loads traded. Buyers took advantage of the low price to purchase cheese. The barrel cheese price remained unchanged at $1.70 with no loads traded. The dry whey price declined a penny to 71.00 cents with three loads traded. Class III futures are 5 cents lower to 16 cents higher. The butter price remained unchanged at $1.4725 with no loads traded. There were two unfilled bids and no uncovered offers remaining at the close of spot trading. Grade A nonfat dry milk increased 0.75 cent, closing at $1.1375 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet been traded. Butter futures are 0.95 to 3.77 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.85 cent lower to 1.02 cents higher. Cheese futures are 1.40 cents lower to 0.90 cent higher.
