Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter and Nonfat Prices Fall to New Lows

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 0.75 cent, closing at $1.7750 with no loads traded and five unfilled bids remaining at the close of spot trading. The barrel cheese price remained unchanged at $1.77 with no loads traded and one unfilled bid remaining at the close. The dry whey price increased 1.50 cents, closing at 65.00 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 12 cents lower to 2 cents higher. The butter price declined 3.25 cents, closing at $1.5950 with 11 loads traded. There were eight unfilled bids and nine uncovered offers remaining at the close of trading. This is a new low for the year and the lowest price since Feb. 26, 2021. Grade A nonfat dry milk slipped 0.50 cent, closing at $1.11 and a new low for the year and the lowest price since April 29, 2024. Class IV futures are 8 cents lower to 9 cents higher. Butter futures are 3.97 cents lower to 1.77 cents higher. The strength is only in the October contract as it adjusts to the weekly AMS prices released on Thursday. Dry whey futures are steady to 1.25 cents higher. Cheese futures are 0.10 cent higher to 1.70 cents lower.
