Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Falls Again

 OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 6 Higher
SOYBEANS: 9 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.30 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $1.10 Lower
DOW JONES: 115 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 4 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.42 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased a penny, closing at $1.6275 with 12 loads traded. There were three unfilled bids with no uncovered offers. The barrel cheese price remained unchanged at $1.6125 with no loads traded and two unfilled bids, and one uncovered offer remaining. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 60.25 with no load traded. Class III futures are 6 cents lower to 17 cents higher. The butter price fell 5 cents, closing at $1.77 with four loads traded. There were 10 unfilled bids and two uncovered offers remaining at the close. As we have seen over the past two weeks, the volume of unfilled bids is meaningless and does not indicate a possible level of support. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 2.00 cents to close at $1.14 with five loads traded. Class IV futures are 3 to 5 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.82 cent lower to 0.67 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 1.02 cents lower to 0.62 cents higher. Cheese futures are 0.80 cent lower to 1.40 cents higher.
