Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Fall

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.60 Higher
DOW JONES: 611 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 141 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.13 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price declined 5.25 cents, closing at $1.62 with 11 loads traded. The barrel cheese price declined 4.00 cents, closing at $1.6350 with three loads traded. There were no unfilled bids or uncovered offers remaining at the close. The dry whey price declined 0.50 cent, closing at 58.50 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are 7 to 25 cents lower with double-digit losses through most of next year. The butter price declined 3.75 cents, closing at $1.9275 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined 1.50 cents to close at $1.1725 with 10 loads traded. Class IV futures are 17 to 30 cents lower. Butter futures are 3.20 to 9.17 cents lower. There are expanded trading limits due to contracts closing limit down on Wednesday. Dry whey futures are 0.27 to 1.25 cents lower. Cheese futures are steady to 1.80 cents lower.
