Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Continues to Fall

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

LIVE CATTLE: $4.52 Higher
DOW JONES: 12 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 166 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.68 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 0.25 cent, closing at $1.6175 with nine loads traded. Three unfilled bids remained at the close with no uncovered offers. The price initially increased to $1.62 before slipping back into the close. The barrel cheese price remained unchanged at $1.6125 with no loads traded. The dry whey price increased a penny to 60.25 cents with four loads traded. Class III futures are 2 cents lower to 16 cents higher. The butter price fell 4.00 cents, closing at $1.82 with seven loads traded. There were six unfilled bids and four uncovered offers remaining at the close. This is the lowest price since Oct. 14, 2021. Grade A nonfat dry milk decreased 0.50 cent to close at $1.16 with two loads traded. Class IV futures are 17 cents lower to 14 cents higher. Further pressure will be put on futures as the day progresses. Butter futures are 0.72 to 3.40 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.25 cent lower to 0.25 cent higher. Cheese futures are 0.80 cent lower to 0.50 cent higher.
