Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Buyers Turn Aggressive

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price jumped 7.50 cents, closing at $1.78 with one load traded. The barrel cheese price increased 4.00 cents, closing at $1.75 with no loads traded. There were four unfilled bids for blocks and four unfilled bids for barrels remaining at the close. This suggests further gains could take place in spot trading on Tuesday. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 55.00 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 11 to 40 cents higher, with September through December futures above $18.00. The butter price increased 1.75 cents, closing at $2.4625 with five loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk slipped 0.25 cent, closing at $1.2850 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet been traded. Butter futures are steady to 1.75 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.22 cent higher. Cheese futures are 1.10 to 3.90 cents higher.
