Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Nonfat Dry Milk Moves to a Two-Month High

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price gained a penny, closing at $1.7850 with 18 loads traded. There were eight loads traded after the high was reached at $1.7975, resulting in the price slipping back. The barrel cheese price gained 0.25 cent, closing at $1.7925 with seven loads traded. Similar to blocks, the price slipped 0.50 from its high during the trading session. The dry whey price gained 0.50 cent, closing at 52.50 with no loads traded. Class III futures are 4 to 29 cents higher. The butter price gained 0.25 cent, closing at $2.34 with 12 loads traded. The price reached $2.35 during the trading before slipping back. Grade A nonfat dry milk gained a penny, closing at $1.20 with four loads traded. This is the highest price since Feb. 28. Class IV futures have not yet been traded. Butter futures are 0.12 to 6.15 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 1 cent higher. USDA will release the March Dairy Products report this afternoon.
