Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Update - Cheese Price Increase for the Third Day

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Higher
SOYBEANS: 20 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $5.00 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $2.57 Higher
DOW JONES: 2,152 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 1,332 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.29 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 0.50 cent, closing at $1.7075 with three loads traded. The barrel cheese price increased 1.75 cents, closing at $1.7725 with one load traded. This is the highest block price since March 13 and the highest barrel price since March 3. The dry whey price decreased 1.25 cents, closing at 48 cents with two loads traded. This weakness offset the gains of cheese, but Class III milk futures show nice gains. Futures are 7 cents lower to 37 cents higher with only the December contract showing a loss. The butter price increased 0.25 cent, closing at $2.3125 with no loads traded. Nonfat dry milk increased 0.50 cent, closing at $1.1575 with five loads traded. Class IV futures have traded only in the May contracts at 2 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.27 cent lower to 1.62 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 to 1.45 cents lower.
