Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Gain

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 3.25 cents, closing at $1.7025 with eight loads traded. The barrel cheese price increased 7.50 cents, closing at $1.7550 with two loads traded. There were four unfilled bids and two uncovered offers remaining for loads of blocks. There were two unfilled bids and one uncovered offer for a load of barrels. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 49.25 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures jumped after cheese prices increased with May futures gaining as much as 53 cents. However, the gains could not hold, with prices mixed, ranging from 5 cents lower to 21 cents higher. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 49.50 cents with no loads traded. The butter price increased a penny, closing at $2.31 with no loads traded. There were four unfilled bids and one uncovered offer remaining at the close of spot trading. Grade A nonfat dry milk slipped 0.50 cent, closing at $1.1525 with one load traded. Class IV futures have traded only in a few 2026 contracts at 2 to 4 cents higher. Butter futures are 1.00 cents lower to 2.90 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 cent lower to 0.02 cent higher.
