Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Post Further Gains

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 6 Higher
SOYBEANS: 10 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.65 Higher
DOW JONES: 676 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 330 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.61 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased by 0.50 cent, closing at $1.7450 with four loads traded. The barrel price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $1.8050 with three loads traded. This failed to generate buying interest from traders with Class III futures 34 cents lower to 6 cents higher. The December contract is the only one showing a gain. Traders seem to be focused on dry whey, which declined 2 cents, closing at 46.50 cents with seven loads traded. The butter price increased 1.50 cents, closing $2.3475 with three loads traded. Nonfat dry milk remained unchanged at $1.1675 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet been traded. Butter futures are 0.50 cent lower to 2.02 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.15 to 1.97 cents lower.
