Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter and Dry Whey Continue to Show Weakness

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

LIVE CATTLE: $0.07 Higher
DOW JONES: 268 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 170 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.43 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price remained unchanged at $1.86 with two loads traded. The price initially declined a penny before a buyer bid the price back up. The barrel cheese price declined 2.50 cents closing at $1.78 with three loads traded. The dry why price slipped 0.25 cent closing at 0.5875 with no loads traded. This is the lowest price since Sep. 23, 2024. Class III futures are 61 cents lower to 10 cents higher. The butter price declined 2 cents closing at $2.38 with two loads traded. The weakness continues with buyers holding back with little concern over supply. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined a penny closing at $1.33 with two loads traded. Class IV futures are 7 to 36 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.52 to 4.00 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.40 to 0.50 cent lower.
