Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Dairy Markets Creep Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 1 Lower
SOYBEANS: 13 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.1 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $1.60 Higher
DOW JONES: 135 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 19 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.15 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 4.25 cents, closing at $1.6100 with 11 loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 3.75 cents, closing at $1.6100, even with the barrel price today, with seven loads traded. The were two unfilled bids for blocks remaining at the close with one offer remaining. Barrels had two bids and two offers remaining. Dry whey price increased 2 cents, closing at 38 cents with only two loads traded. Interestingly, we saw nine bids remaining, totaling 27 loads and only one offer remaining at the close.

Class III futures are 4 cents to 47 cents higher. Butter increased by 2 cents to $2.94. Grade A nonfat dry milk price decreased by 0.75 cent yet again today, closing at $1.1275 with four loads traded. Class IV futures are 6 to 16 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.5 cent to 4.975 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 1 cent higher.
