Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Nearby Milk, Cheese Contracts Lower; Deferred Prices Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.30 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.33 Lower
DOW JONES: 24 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 68 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.05 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Cheese barrels have another day lower, however had 12 loads traded Monday. The price declined 2.75 cents, closing at $1.46 with four bids left unfilled and one offer. Block cheese price moved lower by 2.50 cents at $1.435 with five loads traded. There was one bid and one offer remaining at the close. Dry whey price increased 0.50 cents at 41.50 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 10 cents lower to 11 cents higher with April posting the greatest loss at 16.47. May through the remainder of the year is higher. Butter price remained unchanged at $2.8025 with no loads traded and no unfilled orders. Class IV futures have yet to trade Monday. Grade A nonfat dry milk price were lower at $1.1675 with no loads traded, one bid and one offer remained unfilled at the close. Butter futures are 0 to 0.75 cents lower with limited trading. Dry whey futures are 0.4250 cents to 2.15 cents higher.
