Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Slip Lower

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 2 Higher
SOYBEANS: 8 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.50 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.70 Higher
DOW JONES: 2 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 109 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.47 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined 3 cents closing at $1.47 with two loads traded. Barrel cheese price declined 2.75 cents closing at $1.44 with one load traded. There were two unfilled bids and one uncovered offer remaining for blocks with an unfilled bid and an uncovered offer remaining for barrels. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 40.50 cents with no loads traded. There were three buyers showing up during the trading period and were unwilling to raise the bids. Class III futures are 10 cents lower to 3 cents higher. Butter price declined 1.50 cents closing at $2.5650 with 17 loads traded. There were five unfilled bids and one uncovered offer remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.25 cents, closing at $1.1825 with three loads traded. Class IV futures are 8-14 cents lower. Butter futures are steady to 1.00 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 cent lower to 0.72 cent higher.
