Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Shows More Weakness

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 4 Lower
SOYBEANS: 5 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.40 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.07 Higher
DOW JONES: 32 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 84 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.30 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price remained unchanged at $1.7025 with no loads traded. Barrels cheese price gained 3.25 cents closing at $1.61 with 2 loads traded. There was an unfilled bid for a load of blocks and two uncovered offers. There was an unfilled bid for a load of barrel at the close of spot trading.

Dry whey price increased 0.75 cent, closing at 31 cents with four loads traded. Class III futures are 25 cents lower to 5 cents higher with November showing the greatest decline. Butter price declined 2 cents, closing at $3.48 with two loads traded. An uncovered offer remained at the closing price. This is the second consecutive day of price weakness.

Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.1850 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are unchanged to 5 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.50-3.22 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.20-0.80 cent higher.
