Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Nonfat Dry Milk Bounces

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 2 Higher
SOYBEANS: 16 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.30 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $2.75 Higher
DOW JONES: 262 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 178 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.84 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 1.25 cents closing at $1.9625 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price remained unchanged at $1.8675 with no loads traded. There was an unfilled bid for a load of blocks and two uncovered offers at the close. An uncovered offer for a load of barrels remained at the close. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 32 cents with four loads traded. Class III futures are mixed but mostly higher. Contracts range from 8 cents lower to 22 cents higher. Butter price gained a penny closing at $2.72 with six loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 3.25 cents closing at $1.09 with one load traded. So far, trading activity in Class IV futures has been limited to January with a gain of 30 cents. Butter futures are 1.25–3.65 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25–0.50 cent higher.
