Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Loses More Ground

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 6 Lower
SOYBEANS: 12 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $7.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.22 Lower
DOW JONES: 207 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 48 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.04 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 1.50 cents, closing at $1.8150 with one load traded. There were two unfilled bids and three uncovered offers remaining at the close. Barrel cheese price declined 0.75 cent, closing at $1.7925 with no loads traded. The low bid placed Tuesday was down at $1.70 again as it was Monday. Dry whey price declined 2.00 cents, closing at 44 cents with two loads traded. There were five uncovered offers remaining at the close of trading. Class III futures are mostly lower with only August showing some strength. Butter price declined 2.25 cents, closing at $2.3275 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.16 with no loads traded. Class IV futures show little activity with prices likely to settle lower for the day. Butter futures are lower due to the weakness of spot price. Dry whey futures also show weakness due to the decline of the spot price.
