Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Show Further Weakness

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 10 Lower
SOYBEANS: 31 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $12.90 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.82 Higher
DOW JONES: 567 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 453 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $6.95 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese took a hit Monday with price declining 6 cents, closing at $2.29 with four loads traded. Trading activity did not take place until price was 5 cents lower. There were offers of two loads remaining at the close. This is the lowest price in a month. Barrel cheese price declined 2.25 cents, closing at $2.3575 with no loads traded. No buyers showed up during spot trading with five offers remaining at the close. This does not bode well for the market for Tuesday. Dry whey price remained steady at 58.50 cents with no loads traded. Butter price declined 2.50 cents, ending at $2.6150 with one load traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price slipped 0.50 cent, ending at $1.7350 with one load traded. Class III futures are 62 cents lower to 4 cents higher with the gain posted in the April 2023 contract. Class IV futures are 30 to 34 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.00 to 2.27 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 1.02 to 2.50 cents lower.
