Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Fall

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 9 Lower
SOYBEANS: 43 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $7.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.55 Lower
DOW JONES: 171 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 46 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $7.47 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined 1.50 cents, closing at $2.26 with one load traded. Barrel cheese price remained unchanged at $2.25 with four loads traded. There were no unfilled bids or uncovered offers remaining at the close. Buyers and sellers went home satisfied. Butter price declined 5.75 cents, closing at $2.7375 with eight loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price slipped 0.50 cent, closing at $1.8475 with six loads traded. Class III futures are unchanged to 61 cents lower with June showing the greatest loss. Front-month March is unchanged with Tuesday being the final day to trade March futures and options. Class IV futures have not traded. Butter futures are unchanged to 1.50 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.22 to 0.50 cent higher.
