Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Barrels Slip Back

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Lower
SOYBEANS: 16 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.80 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.30 Higher
DOW JONES: 335 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 130 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.70 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price remained unchanged at $1.90 with no buyers or sellers showing up to do any business. Barrel cheese price declined 2 cents, closing at $1.89 with two loads traded. A load of barrels initially traded 0.25 cent higher before selling pressure took price lower. The second trade was made at the closing price with another uncovered offer remaining at the close. Butter price declined a penny, closing at $2.5075 with five loads traded. Price initially increased a penny before strong buyer interest was filled and sellers had to reduce price to get business accomplished. Grade A nonfat dry milk price slipped 0.25 cent closing at $1.8425 with three loads traded. Dry whey price gained a penny closing at 86.75 cents with two loads traded. This is a new all-time high with no sign of price resistance. Class III futures are 38 cents lower to 1 cent higher. Class IV futures are steady to 10 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25 to 0.50 cent lower.
