Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrels Higher While Blocks Hold

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 1 Higher
SOYBEANS: 11 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.55 Lower
DOW JONES: 62 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 65 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.37 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Traders anticipated further gains of underlying cash prices. Barrel cheese did increase 1.25 cents closing at $1.6925 with 2 loads traded. However, block cheese price remained unchanged at $1.8425 with no load loads traded. There was no interest from either buyers or sellers. Class III futures were significantly higher prior to spot trading with February moving to $20.11. Prices have slipped since spot trading, falling back significantly from those highs. Current Class III futures are 12 cents lower to 22 cents higher. The lower prices are in contracts in late 2022. Butter price slipped 0.25 cent closing at $2.0575 with 3 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.25 with 5 loads traded. Dry whey remained unchanged at 69.75 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 7 cents lower to 13 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.50 cent lower to 2 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.22 cent lower.
