Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Trading Uneventful

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 1 Lower
SOYBEANS: Unchanged
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.12 Lower
DOW JONES: 13 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 34 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.51 lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both Class III and Class IV prices were unchanged at $1.98 and $1.71, respectively. There was only a seller showing up with a load of barrels Friday, offering 2 cents higher than the market. Butter price increased 0.50 cent, closing at $2.4525 with four loads traded. There was an unfilled bid for two loads of butter remaining way down at $2.20. This does raise some concern that it was the bid placed. Sometimes, a high bid or offer indicates where the next level of interest is and the market possibly moving to that level. This may be unlikely but certainly not out of the question. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained at $1.6550 with no loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 75 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 24 cents lower to 1 cent higher. Class IV futures are unchanged to 8 cents lower. Butter futures are 2.50 cents lower to 2.97 cents higher. Dry whey futures are unchanged to $0.52 cent lower.
