Block cheese price remained unchanged for the fifth consecutive trading period. Price remained at $1.6350 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price slipped 0.25 cent, closing at $1.3075 with one load traded. Maybe descent is slowing, but activity is light. The real pressure came from dry whey falling 2.25 cents, closing at 48 cents with two loads traded. This is the lowest price it has been since Jan. 5, 2021. The combination of a weaker barrel price and the decline of dry whey moved all Class III contracts lower with price ranging from 2 to 25 cents lower. Butter price fell 8 cents, closing at $1.62 with two loads traded. This moves price to a new low since the high was reached in April. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 0.75 cent, closing at $1.2675 with one load traded. Class IV futures are 10 to 18 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.07 to 4.22 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.25 to 1.00 cents lower. The Global Dairy Trade auction trade weighted average declined 1.0% Tuesday.
