Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrel Cheese Jumps With No Selling Interest

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 2 cents, closing at $1.88 with five loads traded. The barrel cheese price increased by 6 cents to close at $1.86 with no loads traded. There were three unfilled bids remaining for loads of blocks and one unfilled bid for a load of barrels. The buyer for a load of barrels was unable to entice a seller to let go of a load despite the higher price. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 58.50 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 3 cents lower to 8 cents higher as futures faded from the strong gains seen during and shortly after spot trading. The butter price declined 3.50 cents, closing at $2.3050 with seven loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined 0.75 cent, closing at $1.25 with six loads traded. Class IV futures are 25 to 33 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.65 to 6.50 cents lower. Dry whey futures are steady to 2.72 cents higher. Cheese futures are 0.30 cent lower to 0.40 cent higher.
