Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Moved Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Higher
SOYBEANS: 1 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $8.00 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.82 Higher
DOW JONES: 636 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 393 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.18 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price gained 3 cents, closing at $1.7550 with seven loads traded. The barrel cheese price gained 6 cents, closing at $1.73 with four loads traded. The dry whey price declined 2.25 cents, closing at 45.75 cents with three loads traded. This is the lowest price since June 6, 2024. The weakness of dry whey is limiting the gains in Class III futures. Class III contracts are steady to 24 cents higher. The butter price remained unchanged at $2.34 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk was unchanged with no load traded. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 1.00 cent lower to 1.05 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.40 to 1.55 cents lower.
