Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrels Hold Gains

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Lower
SOYBEANS: 3 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.80 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.12 Higher
DOW JONES: 275 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 202 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.57 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Cheese prices did not move much with blocks slipping 0.25, closing at $1.9275 and barrels remaining unchanged at $2.06. There were three loads of blocks and two loads of barrels traded. The encouraging aspect is that the barrel price held the gain of Tuesday. There were two unfilled bids for loads of barrels but the buyers were not aggressive. Dry whey price increased a penny, closing at 39.50 with no loads traded. Class III futures were significantly lower early but currently are 11 cents lower to 18 cents higher. Butter price jumped 6 cents, closing at $3.0550. with seven loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 0.50 cent, closing at $1.16 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet been traded. Butter futures are 0.20 cent lower to 1.42 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.57 to 0.90 cent higher.
