Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Block Takes Back Some Losses

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 2 Higher
SOYBEANS: 5 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.05 Lower
DOW JONES: 73 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 221 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.93 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 4.25 cents to close at $1.5225 with two loads traded. The barrel cheese price remained steady at $1.5075 with one load traded. There were four unfilled bids for blocks with no offers remaining while barrels had an unfilled bid and two uncovered offers remaining at the close of trading. Dry whey price declined a penny to 51 cents with one load traded.

Class III futures are 8 cents lower to 15 cents higher with the nearby months showing the gains. Butter price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $2.7750 with 15 loads traded. There were two unfilled bids and one uncovered offer remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 2.25 cents, closing at $1.1925 with two loads traded. Class IV futures are mixed with only October, November and December contracts showing activity with prices 9 cents lower to 5 cents higher. Those trades took place before spot trading. Butter futures are 2.32 cents lower to 1.30 cents higher. Dry whey futures are unchanged to 0.55 cent higher.
