Monday Midday Dairy Market Update - Uneventful Cash Trade

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 3 Lower
SOYBEANS: 4 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $7.50 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.17 Lower
DOW JONES: 9 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 44 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $3.63 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both blocks and barrels remained unchanged at $1.7025 and $1.5775, respectively, with no loads traded. There was an unfilled bid in each category, but no offers. Dry whey price increased 0.50 cent, closing at 30.25 cents with seven loads traded. This did little to move Class III futures with contracts ranging from 6 cents lower to 6 cents higher.

Butter price slipped 0.25 cent to $3.50 with no loads traded. An uncovered offer set the closing price. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.50 cent, closing at $1.1850 with two loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet traded. The markets are taking a breather today with buyers assessing what their needs are for the week and the holidays. It was a bit of a disappointment as traders anticipated further price movement.
