Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Trade Uneventful

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 9 Higher
SOYBEANS: 5 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.30 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.17 Higher
DOW JONES: 124 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 23 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.04 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

It was mostly an uneventful day for spot trading. Traders were disappointed cheese prices did not continue to move higher today. Block cheese remained unchanged at $1.5850 with no loads traded. The barrel cheese price increased 0.75 cent closing at $1.4650 with one load traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 24 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures were higher early with double-digit gains only to fall into negative territory with futures the rest of this year 3-15 cents lower. Butter price remained steady at $2.56 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk remained steady at $1.10 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have only traded in the December contract, and it is 12 cents lower. Butter futures are mixed from 0.25 cent higher to 2.55 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.50 cent lower to 0.25 cent higher.
