Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Moved Both Higher and Lower During Trading

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

LIVE CATTLE: $1.00 Higher
DOW JONES: 18 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 27 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.61 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price closed a penny lower at $1.7650 with 9 loads traded. Price initially gained 0.25 cent before selling pressure became heavier moving price lower before buyer interest moved it 0.25 cent off its low. Barrel cheese followed somewhat of a similar pattern with price ranging from 0.25 cent higher to 0.75 cents lower eventually closing unchanged at $1.5125 with 11 loads traded. Dry whey price declined 1.25 cents closing at 35 cents with nine loads traded. Class III futures are unchanged to 17 cents lower trimming the early losses. Butter price increased 2.50 cents closing at $2.3525 with 4 loads traded. Price did move as high as $2.36 but could not hold that level. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 0.75 closing at $1.1225 with 2 loads traded. This is the lowest price has been since February 25, 2021. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are unchanged to 0.37 cent lower. Dry whey futures are unchanged to 0.90 cent lower.
