Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrels Continue Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 1 Lower
SOYBEANS: 2 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.30 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.85 Lower
DOW JONES: 10 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 115 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.87 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price gained 3 cents, closing at $1.81 with three loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $1.7950 with nine loads traded. Dry whey price slipped 0.25 cent, closing at 44 cents with no loads traded. Barrel buyers remain active with five unfilled bids remaining at the close. Class III futures are mixed ranging from 10 cents lower to 10 cents higher. Butter price increased 4.75 cents, closing at $2.38 with two loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 0.50 cents, ending at $1.17 with one load traded. Class IV futures are 8 to 14 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.02 cents lower to 0.50 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 1.10 cents lower to 0.10 cent higher. Traders remain cautious and are not optimistic over price strength holding for an extended duration. Supplies of dairy products are sufficient for demand, leaving little reason for buyers to remain aggressive for very long.
