Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Move Opposite of Monday

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 4 Lower
SOYBEANS: 14 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $15.80 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.72 Lower
DOW JONES: 441 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 233 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $3.40 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 3 cents closing at $2.11 with no loads traded and an unfilled bid setting the price. Barrel cheese price declined 2.75 cents closing at $1.92 with 6 loads traded. Dry whey price increased 0.75 cent ending at 45.75 with 3 loads traded. Class III futures are 5 cents lower to 19 cents higher. Butter price remained unchanged at $2.90 with no buyers or sellers showing up to do any business. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 1.25 cents closing at $1.3725 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 5 cents lower to 6 cents higher. Butter futures are 2.35 cents lower to 3.87 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 1.50 lower to 0.47 cent higher. The Global Dairy Trade auction took place Tuesday with the trade weighted average increasing 0.6%.
