Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Price Goes Up

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 0.50 Lower
SOYBEANS: 12.25 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.50 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.55 Higher
DOW JONES: 57 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 69 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.18 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Cheese barrels slipped 0.50 cents to close at $2.2225 with no loads traded. Blocks increased 2.25 cents to $2.0225 with two loads traded. Class III milk futures were 14 cents lower to 14 cents higher. Butter jumped 3 cents to $3.2400 with nine loads traded. Prices haven't been this high since September 13. Nonfat dry milk remained at $1.5375 with three loads traded. Dry whey was unchanged, ending at $0.4225 with no loads traded. Class IV milk futures were unchanged to 5 cents higher. Butter futures were 3 to 4 cents higher. Dry whey futures were down 1 to 2 cents lower. Nonfat dry milk futures were unchanged at 1 cent down.
