Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese and Butter Rebound

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 12 Higher
SOYBEANS: 21 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.50 Higher
DOW JONES: 107 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 227 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $6.43 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 4.50 cents, closing at $2.3075 with one load traded. Barrel cheese price increased 5.50 cents, closing at $2.3950 with two loads traded. What was interesting was that there were no unfilled bids or uncovered offers remaining at the close. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 56.75 cents with no loads traded. Butter price increased 2.50 cents closing at $2.6350 with eight loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.25 cents closing at $1.7225 with one load traded. Class III futures are 12 cents lower to 41 cents higher. Higher prices are listed through November with lower prices thereafter. Class IV futures are steady with trading only taking place in the November contract. Butter futures are 1.97 to 3.445 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 to 0.82 cent higher.
