Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Steady to Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 18 Lower
SOYBEANS: 3 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $9.60 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $2.95 Higher
DOW JONES: 77 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 239 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $6.50 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

There was only one seller that showed up during spot block trading. Price remained unchanged at $2.19 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 2 cents, closing at $2.03 with two loads traded. Dry whey remained unchanged at 75.75 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures were substantially higher overnight and remain that way with contracts remaining unchanged to 58 cents higher. June shows the greatest gain. Butter price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $2.7350 with eight loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.50 cents closing at $1.8450 with two loads traded. Class IV futures are 14 to 16 cents higher with trading activity confined to June, July and August contracts. Butter futures are 0.50 cent lower to $1.97 cents higher. Dry whey futures are unchanged to 0.85 cent lower.
