Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter Pushes to New High

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Higher
SOYBEANS: 6 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.70 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.10 Higher
DOW JONES: 502 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 471 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.62 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Blocks held steady at $1.8425 with no loads traded and no bids or offers posted. Barrel cheese price increased 4 cents, closing at $1.68 with no loads traded. Butter price gained 4.75 cents, closing spot trading at $2.06 with nine loads traded. Buyers were not shy about looking for product. There were three unfilled bids remaining at the close of trading. This moved butter to the highest price since Nov. 19, 2019. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 0.50 cent, closing at $1.5675 with five loads traded. Dry whey price remained steady at 69.75 with no loads traded. Class III futures are 1 cent to 40 cents higher with February showing the greatest strength. Futures were higher prior to spot trading and have not been able to hold those gains. Class IV futures are 14-39 cents higher. Butter futures are 1.70-7.45 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady with Monday's close.
