A buyer needed a load of blocks and could not find it. Block cheese price increased 8.50 cents to $1.80 with no loads traded. It is difficult to understand how there could be no selling interest even at the current price. Sellers were active last week and willing to sell at lower prices. Barrel cheese price increased 0.50 cent closing at $1.5450 with 3 loads traded. the block/barrel spread has widened significantly and rapidly reach 25.50 cents. However, traders are not buying into the sharp increase Wednesday as Class III futures are 11 cents lower to 3 cents higher through December 2022. Only the December 2022 contract shows the gain. Butter price increased a penny to $1.9750 with 2 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined a penny to $1.56 with no loads traded. Dry whey remained unchanged at 66 cents with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 10 cents lower to 10 cents higher. Butter futures are 1.10 cent to 5.75 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25 cent lower to 0.97 cent higher.
