Block cheese price slipped 0.50 cent, closing at $1.50 with five loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 6.50 cents, closing at $1.6725 with nine loads traded. It was a bit of a surprise that blocks only enjoyed one day of gain before succumbing to weakness. On the other hand, barrels were very strong, and buyers were aggressive, needing to obtain supply to fill orders. Butter price remained unchanged at $1.7925 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained steady at $1.30 with three loads traded. Dry whey price increased 0.75 cent, closing at 62.75 with no loads traded. Class III futures are mixed ranging from 7 cents lower to 9 cents higher on rather light activity. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 0.50 cent to 1.27 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.27 cent to 1.52 cents higher. Grain futures are lower as some rain events have developed in the Western Corn Belt.
