Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Continues to Struggle

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 3 Higher
SOYBEANS: 12 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.10 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.17 Higher
DOW JONES: 686 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 713 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.91 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased a penny, closing at $1.6325 with five loads traded. The barrel cheese price decreased 2.50 cents, closing at $1.6050 with one load traded. The market continues to bleed with one or the other category, with many days showing a loss. Class III futures tried to hold their ground, but the decline of barrels more than offset the gain in blocks. Futures are mixed ranging from 14 cents lower to 9 cents higher. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 49 cents. The butter price remained unchanged at $2.31 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk gained 0.25 cent, closing at $1.1575 with three loads traded. The only trading activity in Class IV futures took place in the February 2026 contract with the price 6 cents lower. Butter futures are steady to 1.27 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 to 1.82 cents lower.
