Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Shows Further Weakness

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price declined 0.50 cent, closing at $1.6225 with seven loads traded. The barrel cheese price declined 2.50 cents with one load traded. The barrel price is down to the lowest level since Dec. 2, 2024. There were five unfilled bids for loads of blocks and three unfilled bids for loads of barrels remaining at the close of trading. The dry whey price remained unchanged with no loads traded. Class III futures are 1 to 15 cents higher as traders are positioning themselves ahead of the weekend, and the possibility of unexpected political news that might develop. The butter price gained a penny, closing at $2.31 with one load traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined 1.25 cents, closing at $1.1550 with seven loads traded. This is the lowest price since May 15, 2024. Class IV futures have traded only in the December contract at the unchanged price. Butter futures are 0.37 cent lower to 0.90 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25 cent lower to 1.97 cents higher.
