Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Slips Lower

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEAN MEAL: $3.90 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.57 Higher
DOW JONES: 47 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 290 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.88 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price declined 2.50 cents closing at $1.9150 with three loads traded. The barrel cheese price declined by 1.25 cents closing at $1.8625 with one load traded. There were two uncovered offers for barrels remaining at the close of spot trading. The dry whey price declined 0.75 cent closing at 74 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are steady to 30 cents lower with trading activity confined to the first half of the year. The butter price gained a penny closing at $2.58 with two loads traded. There was an uncovered bid and two uncovered offers remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined 0.50 cent closing at $1.3650 with eight loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet been traded. Butter futures are 0.65 cent lower to 1.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 1.30 cents higher.
