Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Fall

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 13 Higher
SOYBEANS: 15 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.20 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.32 Higher
DOW JONES: 460 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 179 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $2.58 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price fell by 7.75 cents closing at $1.82 with six loads traded. The barrel cheese price declined 2 cents closing at $1.85 with two loads traded. There was an unfilled bid and an uncovered offer for a load of barrels with an uncovered offer for a load of blocks remaining at the close of spot trading. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 74 cents with one load traded. This hit Class III futures hard with futures steady to 69 cents lower. The butter price remained steady at $2.60 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk remained steady at $1.3650 with five loads traded. Class IV futures are 10 cents lower to 10 cents higher. Butter futures are steady to 3.45 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.50 to 0.75 cent higher. Grain futures jumped in response to a reduction in grain production and ending stocks on the World Supply and Demand report.
