Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Dry Whey Moved to a New High

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEANS: 4 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.60 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $2.12 Higher
DOW JONES: 11 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 361 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.55 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price increased 2 cents closing at $1.75 with two loads traded. The barrel cheese price decreased by 1.25 cents closing at $1.6750 with five loads traded. An unfilled bid and an uncovered offer for a load of barrels remained at the close of spot trading. The dry whey price increased 2 cents closing at 75 cents and a new high for the year. An uncovered offer remained at 80 cents suggesting the price may increase further. Class III futures are mixed from 1 cent lower to 21 cents higher. The butter price slipped 0.25 cent closing at $2.5275 with 14 loads traded. An unfilled bid and four uncovered offers remained at the close. Nonfat dry milk remained unchanged at $1.3825 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are unchanged to 10 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.50 -- 1.77 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.45 cent lower to 1.50 cents higher.
