Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Still Unable to Find Support

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

LIVE CATTLE: $0.05 Lower
DOW JONES: 347 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 209 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.06 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price declined 4 cents closing at $1.79 with one load traded. The barrel cheese price declined 3 cents closing at $1.83 with no loads traded. No buyers showed up looking for barrels with an uncovered offer remaining for a load of blocks at the close. This keeps the attitude of traders bearish. The dry whey price increased 1.25 cents closing at 61.75 cents with four loads traded. Class III futures are steady to 21 cents lower. The butter price remained unchanged at $2.6750 with no loads traded and only sellers showing up to do any business. Grade A nonfat dry milk increased 1.75 cents closing at $1.3950 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have only had trading activity in the January contract with the price 3 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.97 cent lower to 3.17 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.25 cent lower.
