Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Bounce Slightly

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEANS: 17 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.40 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.45 Higher
DOW JONES: 12 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 248 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.94 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The block cheese price remained steady at $1.75 with no loads traded. The barrel cheese price declined a penny closing at $1.80 with no loads traded. There was an uncovered offer for a load of blocks and an uncovered offer for a load of barrels remaining at the close of spot trading. The dry whey price increased 1.25 cents closing at 63 cents with four loads traded. This is the highest price since April 22, 2022. Class III futures are 22 cents lower to 16 cents higher. The butter prices declined 1.25 cents closing at $2.6625 with no loads traded. Offers for four loads remained at the close with no buyers showing up today. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined a penny closing at $1.3850 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have only traded in the August contract at 12 cents lower and the December 2025 contract at 36 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.75 to 2.75 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 1.50 to 2.47 cents higher.
