Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrels Continue to Decline

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

LIVE CATTLE: $0.45 Higher
DOW JONES: 233 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 68 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $2.67 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese remained unchanged at $1.9475 with no loads traded. The barrel cheese price declined 2.25 cents closing at $1.9325 with no loads traded and no buyers showing up to do business. This continues to set the negative tone in the market as there have only been four loads of barrels traded since the record high on September 18. The price has declined 69 cents from the top. The dry whey price remained unchanged today at 60.50 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 5 to 49 cents lower with November showing the greatest loss. The butter price increased 2.50 cents closing at $2.7125 with six loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk increased 0.25 cents closing at $1.3550 with three loads traded. Class IV futures are unchanged to 23 cents lower. Butter futures are 3.00 cents lower to 0.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.22 cents higher.
